                                  requied softwqre at lower price.

Course Description:   This course reviews the fundamentals of arithmetic, addition,
                                     subtraction, multiplication, division for intergers, signed decimals, and signed
                                     fractions as well as ratio, percent, and measurement. Topics are selected upon the
                                     basis of their usefulness in practical situations.

Course SLO:              1.       Add, subtract, multiply, divide signed numbers (including integers, fractions, decimals).
                                    2.       The SLO for the Fall ’09 semester:
                                              Simplify an expression by combining like terms.
                                   3.        Solve linear equations in one variable.
                                   4.       Analyze data from a table, or a pictograph, or a bar graph to find the average, or minimum, or maximum.

On-Campus tests:        This class has three on-campus tests;

First test is on October 10th, 2009 at 10:00AM in LRC 004 covering chapters 1and 2, and 3.1-3.3
Second test is Nobember 21st, 2009 at 10:00AM in LRC 004 covering chapters 3-5
Final in on December 19th , 2009 at 1:00PM in LRC 004 covering chapters 1-8

Homework and
Assignments:               There is assigned online homwork and quizzes for each week that must be taken during that week. Homwork and quizzes
                                     become inactive one week after the due dates.
                                     Chapter tests will be active for only five five days.
                                    How to do homework or take a test

Grading Policy:           Your semester grade depends on total points earned in the course.
                                     The break down of the points is as follows:

On Campus Exam # 2                                120 Points

Bounce                                                       20 Points ( If all homework, quizzes and tests done by the due dates)

90% or better is “A”
80% to 89% is “B”
70% to 79% is “C”
60% to 69% is “D”

Note: As long as you take all the online quizzes and receive 85% or better and done by the due dates, you will get the full 150 points for the online quizzes.

Use the online tutorial and quizzes to prepare for the on-campus exams.

 
Important Note: There is no make up for on-campus tests. If the date of any of those tests is not convient for you, you need to inform me at leat  a week before  the the test date to arrange an alternate date for that exam. If you missed your final without piror arrangement, you will receive "0" for you final exam score.
 The secret to succeed on an online course is time manangement.
