Welcome to the on-line Math Course.

The mandatory on-campus orientation is on Tuesday September 1st 3:00-4:30 Thursday September 3rd, 2009 at 3:00 to4:30 PM in LRC 004
(basement of the Library).

If you can not attend this orientation contact your instructor ASAP (before the orientation dates).

You must have your own PC and Internet access in order to take this class.

Before buying your access code  or book package for the course make sure  you are officially registered for the class

After purchasing the course material and registering into course compass (see the instructure for registering into coursecompass) .

To register in a Course Compass:

     In order to start your class work, you need to register into virtual class.

     1. To register into coursecompass you need to have:

  • 1. A valid email address. If you don not have email address you can get a free email address by going to http://www.yahoo.com or  http://www.hotmail.com
  • 2. The courseID for your class is meftagh53844
  • 3. Student access codeCourse ID, if you buy new book student access code come with it or  you  buy student access code on-line. If you already have a used book, you need to buy student access code. To buy student access code please visit  http://www.mymathlab.com/buying.html
  •      2. Go to www.coursecompass.com  (bookmark it for easy access), and click the Register button for students.
              Follow the on-screen instructions
              to enter your student access, code and your course ID,
              contact information, and create a login name and password.
              enter " Los Angeles Trade Technical College " for academic institution
              enter " 90015"  for the zip code.
              Make sure not to loose  your login name and password because I can not restore them.
     

     To use Installation Wizard:

         Before you start your course, you need to install MymathLab and plug-ins.
     
          Use the MyMathLab Installation Wizard to install the plug-ins and players you need to view and interact with the multimedia content in your course.
          You need to run the Wizard before completing homework, tests, or practice exercises in MyMathLab

     Tip: For an overview of the Installation Wizard, open MyMathLab Student Help and search on "installation wizard" in the Index. Do you need help?Please contact Product Support for assistance.

    On-Campus tests:

    This class has three on-campus tests;

         First test is on Saturday October10 th, 2009 at 9:00AM in LRC 004 covering chapters 1-3
         Second test is Saturday Noveber 21, 2009 at 9:00AM in LRC 004 covering chapters 4- 6
         Final in on Friday December 19th, 2009 at 9:00AM in LRC 004 covering chapters 1-8 and 9.1,9.2,9.3

    If for any reason you cannot attend any of these on-campus test you need to notify your teacher at leat one week before the test date to arrange a make up test.

    We have a on-campus review session for each test ( this is optional to attend).

     Bring a picture ID with you when coming to take an on-campus test.

    Make sure to finish all the sections assigned for each week and do not let yourself to get behind. Try to be ahead of the schedule.

    If you need help or facing unexpected sitution please contact me ASAP.

    The online tests are only active for days as scheduled in the class calendar. Do not miss these dates.
    Refer to the class calendar for the dates of the on-campus tests.

    There will be No Make up for any of the exams. If you fail to attend any of the exams you will receive Zero point for that exam ( unless pre-arrange).
    If you you do not take the final exam, you will receive Zero point for the final exam.
    In case of emergency, you must email me, and with the proper documentation, a make up exam may be granted.
    Online quizzes for the sections you are taking the exams must be done before each on-campus exam.
