A variety of workshops are being offered during the Spring 2003 semester.
If you don’t see a workshop that interests you, please let me know at ext.
3971. I am looking for Technology Instructors (PowerPoint, Excel,
Word, etc.)! Instructors can earn 2 hours of FLEX credit for every
hour of instruction. I am also, looking for people to sign up to
offer workshops for June 10 & 11 FLEX days!
My office hours in L265 for the Spring 2003 semester are:
T 2-4pm; W 10am-12noon;
TH 12noon-2pm

Staff Development Conference/Travel
Funds
Governor Gray Davis cut the entire Staff Development budget for the
2002-2003 Academic year. As a result Staff Development has had to
halt all conference/travel requests.

ACT Center in L265 SD
Lab
Our campus has agreed to establish an ACT Testing Center and the Staff
Development Lab has been designated as that site. Opening day for
ACT Testing will be March 24, 2003. During these hours, the Lab will
not be available to staff and faculty:
M 9am-1:30pm W 2:30-7pm
F 8am-1pm
If you need to schedule use of L265, please contact Alicia at least
2 weeks in advance.

Professional Growth
Committee
Professional Growth funds are still available to faculty for travel/conference
and tuition! $300.00 for FT and $150.00 for PT.

Listserve
If you want to receive announcements via email about technology workshops
and other opportunities, get on the Staff Development listserve.

Many of you attended the 4faculty.org workshop on August 28th and learned
what this site is all about. Well, LATTC now has access to this site
and now faculty (full-time and adjunct) can log on. Get help with effective
class management, building your syllabus or technology and distance education,
as well as many other issues we face as instructors. Earn FLEX credit!
Brochures are available in the SD lab (L 265). If you have any questions,
please contact Alicia at ext. 3971. Professional Development credit
(FLEX) can be earned. See dates of 4faculty.org workshops.
