Step 1
Both partners begin by facing each other
and gripping the uniform by placing your right hand on their left lapel
at the collarbone and your left hand on their right sleeve under their
tricep muscle. The person on the right side of the picture is gripping
properly.
Step 2
You begin the entry to the major outer
reaping throw by pushing with your right hand (person doing the throw is
on the right side of the picture) in the ear area, but do not let got of
the lapel. As you are pushing their head your left arm pulls their
right sleeve. This is the off-balancing phase, the key to a successfl
judo throw.
Step 3
As soon as possible after ou have off-balanced
your partner you hook your right foot behind their right knee with your
heel and achilles tendon by pointing your right foot and toes down.
(See picure on left.) You also hop forward on your left foot and
don't let your right foot or ltoes touch the ground. (See picture
on right.)
Step 4
You begin the follow through of the throw
by kicking your right leg (hooking leg) backwards behind the partner's
right knee.
Step 5
You continue the follow through by lifting the hooking
leg upwards in the backwards motion and bending forward at the waist as
you turn your head to the left (away from the partner.)
Step 6
The follow through continues by driving your right arm
downwards.
Step 7
Scarf Hold
After a throw from a right handed you are falling on top
of your partner. Do not land on him/her with all your weight in practice.
Step 8
Your partner is on their back as you release your right
hand from their left lapel and put that arm under their neck with their
head resting in the crotch of your elbow.
Step 9
Your left arm maintains the sleeve grip and pulls their
right arm tightly across your chest.
Step10
You sit with your right hip on the mat with your legs
in a striding position with your right leg forward and your left leg back.
You continue squeezing with your right arm and pulling iwth your left arm
until submission or time elapses.
