Major Hip Throw

Step 1

The partner on the right side is doing the throw right handed.  You take a right handed grip with yourright hand on your partner's left lapel and your left hand on their right sleeve.
Step 2

You begin the entry into the major hip throw by jerking hard with your left hand for an off-balancing with your right arm as you are stepping forward with your right foot and placing it in front of their right foot as you are bending your right knee half way down.  Try to do all these movements simultaneously.
Step 3

Back your left foot around in front of their left foot and bend your left knee halfway down.
Step 4

Lift your partner on your hip by straightening out your legs.
Step 5

Rotate to your left as your partner flies over your hip and onto their back.
Step 6

Try not to land on your partner when they hit the mat in practice and vice versa in judo contests.
