Step 1
Starting position for Left-Side Fall Take the ready position, crouch and rest your elbows close to your knees.
 Step 2
Left-side fall picture 2 Place your right hand down in front of your right foot.
Step 3
Left-Side fall picture 3 Place your left hand down behind your right hand and point it tothe right, as you turn your head that direction.
 Step 4

Push off with your legs, rolling over your left shoulder.

Continue the roll and prepare to land in the side-fall position.
Step 6
Left-Side Fall final image Land in the side fall position: 
  1. chin tucked
  2. right arm and palm slap the mat an instant before your body hits the mat
  3. left shoulder up
  4. legs parallel and shoulder width, with the left knee up and the right leg on it's side, creating a space between your knees
