Plumbing 111, 3-units. ( taken concurrently with 112 & 113)

Strongly suggested pre requisites – English 64 & Math 105 (minimum)

1)Course objectives:

a) An overview of the history and structure of the plumbing industry.

b) Learn awareness of job and occupational hazards.

c) Learn of the latest models and uses of tools used in the plumbing industry.

d) Learn about tools and occupational health hazards.

2)Textbooks & publications:
a) Textbook will be specified by the Instructor, and will be available at school book store.

a) Learn plumbing trade mathematics unique to the trade

b) Overview and review of basic math skills

c) Basic measuring and sketch making

d) Basic working drawings

e) Basic blueprint reading

f) Pipe symbol identification

g) Developing pipe “cut sheets”

h) Use of the architect scale

2)Textbooks & publications:
a) Textbook will be specified by the Instructor, and will be available at school book store.
3)Course required supplies, tools or equipment:
a) Architect scale

b) 12”, 30-60-90 triangle

c) 6”, 45-45-90 triangle

d) 18” tee square

e) 0.5mm mechanical drafting pencil

f) pencil eraser (magic rub)

g) Eraser shield

h) Lettering and numbering guide (1/8”+3/16”+1/4” – all in one template)
