Introduction to Accounting I
Course Description:

This course emphasizes basic accounting theory and practice which includes an analysis of records of original entry and their relationship to the general ledger, controlling accounts and subsidiary ledgers, voucher system, periodic adjustments, work sheet, financial statements, and closing the ledger.  Included are problems and a practice set/or computer laboratory applications.

The completion of this course prepares the student to get a job as a bookkeeper and/or take a certified bookkeepers examination.

Hybrid class during Fall 2008 requires regular on campus class meetings. Class meets on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 pm in K-208. Section #3004.

Orientation strongly recommended for students who have not taken courses with Moodle previously.

Fall 2007 meetings are scheduled for Tuesdays from 5:30-8:30 pm in K-208.

Login Directions:

Go to the Moodle web site and follow the directions below to log in.

Your login id is your student identification number (begins with 88). Your password is originally set to the four digits that represent MMDD of your birth month and day. You can change it once you log in.

Your classroom might not open until the first day of the term. The accounts take three business days to appear in the Moodle server after you register for the class. The student accounts for fall 2008 classes will not upload until August 14.

If you do not know your student identification number, you can log into the Student Information System using your social security number, but that only works if you gave the college your social security number.

Your new campus email will be uploaded to Moodle as the address where instructor correspondence will be sent. Be sure to log in and check it the first day of class. You can edit your profile after you log in and change the email address.
