Please note a recommended timeline on the Recommended Schedule below. Beware that the chapter quizzes and tests for Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are available from the beginning of semester until the Midterm. The links to the quizzes and tests will be no longer available afterwards. The rest of the quizzes and tests are available until the day before the Final Exam. Midterm exam will include the material of chapters 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. The final exam is comprehensive and will include chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10. Photo ID is required for all on-campus exams.
Tests:
On-line tests are 90 minutes long. You cannot open a test, print it
out, and re-open the same test later. So, please be advised to open a test
when you are ready to take it, and devote 90 minutes to it without being
interrupted. You may take up to three tries for each test. Only the highest
of the scores will count towards your grade.
Find the assigned tests under TAKE A TEST link of MyMathLab Menu.
You will be tested on the material as follows:
Test 1: chapter 1, chapter 2, chapter 3.
Test 2: chapter 4 (sections 1, 2, 3, and 4), chapter 5 (sections 1,
2, 3, and 4).
Test 3: chapter 6 (sections 1, 2, 3, and 5), chapter 7 (sections 1,
2, 3 and 4).
Test 4: chapter 8 (sections 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5), chapter 10 (sections
1, 2, and 3).
Test 5: chapter 11 (sections 1, 2, and 3) is optional, for extra credit.
Quizzes:
On-line quizzes are 60 minutes long. You will be tested on the
same sections as above, a quiz per chapter. You cannot open a quiz, print
it out, and re-open the same quiz later. So, please be advised to open
a quiz when you are ready to take it, and devote 60 minutes to it without
being interrupted. You may take up to three tries for each quiz. Only the
highest of the scores will count towards your grade. Online quizzes for
the sections you are taking the online test must be done before each test.
Find the assigned quizzes under TAKE A TEST link of MyMathLab Menu.
Skill Check:
There will be optional on-line sample tests to check your skills. They
will be instantaneously corrected so that the student can learn from the
experience and get familiar with the chapter test format. The skill checks
results will not be counted when the student’s final grade for the course
is calculated.
Find sample tests under TAKE A TEST link of MyMathLab Menu below
the assigned tests.
Excel Assignments:
There will be four mandatory and one extra credit Excel assignments:
1. Frequency Tables
2. Statistical Graphs
3. Descriptive Statistics
4. Correlation and Regression
5. One-way ANOVA
Submit Excel assignments as an attachment
to an email to your instructor. See suggested timeline for Excel
Assignments in the Recommended Schedule
below.
Find Excel Assignments under Excel Assignments link of MyMathLab Menu.
Homework:
Homework (HW) is crucial for success in any math course. You learn
math by doing it. After each section, you will have interactive HW assignments
online, which will be graded. Chapter quiz, test, midterm and final exam
questions will be similar to homework problems. HW assignments don't have
due dates and there is no time limit. You may return to any of HW assignment
as many times as you wish. I hope you will do HW before taking a chapter
quiz or test and you will get a 100% on this portion of the coursework.
Find assigned HW under DO HOMEWORK link of MyMathLab Menu.
