Homework:
Homework (HW) is crucial for success in
any online math course. You learn math by doing it. For each section, you
will have interactive HW assignments online, which will be graded. Chapter
quizzes, tests, the midterm and the final exam questions are similar to
homework problems. See the timeline for the HW in the Schedule
below.
There are no time limits for HW however each one has its own deadline.
You may return to any of HW assignment as many times as you wish.
You must score at least 60% on the HW for the respective chapter(s) before taking a chapter quiz or multi-chapter test. You may continue doing the HW after the deadline with a penalty of 5%.
You will find the assigned HW with the due dates under "HOMEWORK" link of MyMathLab Menu. If you would like any additional practice in the format of the HW, you can find it under the "STUDY PLAN" link of the MyMathLab Menu, or just solve problems from the textbook (or e-book) in Basic Skills and Concepts part.
Quizzes:
Online quizzes are 60 minutes long. You
will be tested on the sections listed above with one quiz per chapter.
You cannot open a quiz, print it out, and re-open the same quiz later.
Open a quiz when you are ready to devote 60 minutes to it without interruption.
You can take each quiz a maximum of two times. The best of the 2 scores
will count towards your grade.
You must score at least 60% on the HW for the corresponding chapter before the system will allow you to take a chapter quiz .Online quizzes must be completed before each test.
See the timeline for Quizzes in the Schedule
below.
You will find the assigned quizzes with the due dates under the "QUIZZES
& TESTS" link of the MyMathLab Menu.
Tests:
Online tests are 90 minutes long. You
cannot open a test, print it out, and re-open the same test later. Open
a test when you are ready to devote 90 minutes to it without interruption.
You can take each test a maximum of two times. The best of the 2 scores
will count towards your grade.
You must score at least 60% on HW for respective chapters before the system will allow you to take a test on that portion of the coursework.
See the timeline for theTests in the Schedule
below.
You will find the assigned tests with the due dates under the "QUIZZES&
TESTS" link of the MyMathLab Menu.
Skill Check:
There will be optional online sample tests
to check your skills. They will be instantaneously corrected so that you
can learn from the experience and get familiar with the chapter test format.
The skill checks results will not count towards your final grade. You will
find sample tests under "QUIZZES& TESTS" link of the MyMathLab
Menu below the assigned tests.
Excel Assignments:
There will be four mandatory and one extra
credit Excel assignments:
1. Frequency Tables
2. Statistical Graphs
3. Descriptive Statistics
4. Correlation and
Regression
5. One-way ANOVA
Submit Excel
assignments as an attachment to an email to your instructor.
See the timeline for Excel Assignments in the Schedule below. Excel #1 and 2 should be done before the Midterm and the rest of the Excel Assignments should be done before the Final. You will find Excel Assignments under "Excel Assignments" link of MyMathLab Menu. Please note Sample Solution link there. You need to use the same formats and formulas for your spreadsheets with your assigned data.

Grading will NOT be done directly from
the MyMathLab Gradebook. It will be calculated according to the points
you earn:
