Current Events and News:
Check the Schedule of Classes under Physical Education Activity and Physical Education (non activity) classes for enrollment availability or contact the instructor.  All classes meet first day at the pool. Students provide their own swimsuit, towel, cap, and goggles. A certified lifeguard is on duty during all classes.  All students are expected to obey the pool rules.

Summer swim program will be hiring qualified lifeguard / swim instructors to work in the community learn to swim program during summer 2007.  If interested, leave a resume at the swimming pool office.

Tuesday and Thursday morning has open-entry swimming class time from 6:50 to 8:00 am.  See Coach Jason at the pool for more information and to get enrolled.

Lifeguard Training and Lifeguard Instructor have both been revised in 2006.  The newest material and Red Cross certificates are offered in our classes.

Resources for Aquatics Classes (extra resources available with class syllabus)

Swimming 102 (Swimming Skills) is for those who are deep-water safe and can do the basic freestyle, backstroke, and tread water for 2 minutes. Students will work on elementary backstroke, sidestroke, breaststroke, butterfly, flip turns, springboard diving, surface dives, and swim conditioning.

Students who can not swim as well will be accepted in this summer class because 101 is not being offered.  These non-swimmers will be taught the front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, treading water, survival floating, diving from the edge of the pool, and safety skills as time allows.
