Components of Your LGI
Lesson Plans

You will be given several teaching assignments in this class. Each lesson
you teach needs to be well-planned so that every student is safe and you
are effective.
You need to consider each of the following points.

what you are going to teach (content)
-
how you are going to present it
-
how your students will hear, see, and practice it (class organization)
-
what steps you'll take to ensure your students remember it (cue
words, evaluation, association)
-
what common mistakes they are likely to make and how you can help
them prepare to avoid those mistakes and catch them early.
-
what questions they are likely to ask you so you are prepared with
answers and might even cover it before they ask.
Your lesson plans needs to be written and contain each of the following
items in at least outline or diagram form.

Your name and class
-
Skills being taught
-
Safety concerns
-
Equipment list of items you'll use for the practice session

Would a deck drill help? If so, what deck drill will you use?

Review of previous skills - especially those used/associated with new skills
-
Explanation of new skills
-
Demonstration of new skills
-
Practice of the new skills
-
Discuss how the new skill makes sense when used in specific situations
- list those situations
-
Cue Words to help students remember the new skill
-
List of probable/common mistakes
